The Spanish Olympic Committee – COE supports the Youth and Open Lifesaving European Championship per Nations to be held in Castellón

It is incorporated as a main collaborator by recognizing that the competition embodies the purposes of the Olympic Movement

The Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) has provided its institutional support to the development of the Lifesaving European Championship per Nations Youth and Open, which will take place in Castellón from September 12 to 18, and will promote its international dissemination in the field of their activities.

This is stated in a collaboration agreement signed by the president of the COE, Alejandro Blanco, and the president of the Royal Spanish Lifesaving Federation, Isabel García Sanz, at the headquarters of the Olympic body, in which it is recognized that the sports competition that It will be held in the Valencian Community that reflects the purposes of the Olympic Movement.

As a result of the agreement, the COE becomes the main collaborator of the Championship and the Royal Spanish Lifesaving Federation has decided to incorporate the label #SomosEspaña, which is used as a reference by the Olympic body for the Tokyo Olympic Games, on the poster of the competition.

First call for national teams after the peak phase of Covid-19

The Lifesaving European Championship per Nations Youth and Open is the first call for national teams after the peak phase of Covid-19, the only one until the World Championship scheduled for September 23rd to October 9th next year in Riccione (Italy), and one of the qualifying competitions for the World Games, which will be held in Birmingham (United States) between 7th and 17th July 2022.

The collaboration agreement includes the incorporation of the COE to the other international activity organized by the Royal Spanish Lifesaving Federation this year, the III International Congress on Drowning Prevention (CIPREA), which will take place in Córdoba between 15 and 17 October, and the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of its foundation, which takes place throughout 2021. 2021/6/23
